IVANNA HAAG

"INTERDEPENDENCIA". Bogotá D.C., 2013.

As a transdisciplinary artist, researcher, and international consultant, I have over 25 years of experience at the intersection of art, cultural exchange, and global cooperation. Holding a Master of Arts in Alternative Development, I have devoted much of my career to advancing “Arts for Peace” initiatives across diverse international contexts. My creative practice is rooted in a deep commitment to the transformative power of the arts as a vehicle for dialogue, healing, and social change.

Trained in dance, performance, drawing and design, among others, my work flows freely between disciplines; manifesting through performance art, mixed media, and fiction writing. I am particularly drawn to the tensions and synergies between movement, image, and story, often using the body as a site of inquiry and expression.

Influenced by natural landscapes, ancestral knowledge, and shaped equally by the complexities of global urban life and big metropolis, my practice weaves together the real and the imagined. I draw inspiration from surrealism, the Bauhaus movement, and abstract art, frequently populating my visual and performative worlds with fantastical figures that inhabit dreamlike, unconventional settings.

Collaboration is central to my approach. I engage with fellow artists in co-creative processes, activating public and nontraditional spaces through site-specific actions that challenge the boundaries of art, place, and audience. My work is a celebration of hybridity and transformation—seeking to bridge cultures, honor memory, and awaken collective imagination.

Whether grounded in community rituals or speculative futures, my artistic inquiry is animated by a desire to provoke reflection, spark emotion, and contribute to more compassionate and interconnected ways of being.
